Leaders of various opposition parties took out a protest march on Tuesday in support of their demand for revoking the suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha MPs.

Opposition MPs of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha took part in the walk from the Gandhi sculpture in the Parliament complex to Vijay Chowk.

Previous Congress boss Rahul Gandhi asserted that the Opposition isn’t being permitted to bring issues up in Parliament, which is presently “simply a structure and a historical center”.

“At whatever point the Opposition attempts to raise issues, they are stifled. The public authority doesn’t permit us to raise issues. This is murder of majority rules system. We need to raise issues against the public authority, yet we are not permitted to do as such,” he told columnists.

Gandhi additionally said the state leader doesn’t come to Parliament and “this isn’t the method for running a majority rule government”.

“We have here our suspended individuals. This is the image of vote based system of the nation and this is the image of pounding of the voice of individuals of India. They have been suspended for about fourteen days at this point. They are sitting outside and their voice has been squashed. We are not being permitted to talk about significant issues.

“This isn’t the method for running Parliament. The head of the state doesn’t come to the House. At whatever point we need to raise an issue, we are halted from doing as such. This is an exceptionally awful killing of popular government that is occurring,” he said.

The 12 Opposition MPs were suspended from the Rajya Sabha on November 29 for the whole Winter Session of Parliament for their “raucous” direct in the past meeting in August.

The Opposition has depicted the suspension as “undemocratic and disregarding every one of the Rules of Procedure” of the Upper House of Parliament. PTI
