46 MLAs had backed him as Punjab CM candidate after Capt Amarinder Singh quit, claims Sunil Jakhar

As the Congress has chosen to take an input from electors and party laborers to pick either Charanjit Singh Channi and Navjot Singh Sidhu as the CM face, a day-old video of senior party pioneer Sunil Jakhar alluding to a greater part of MLAs backing him as CM after Capt Amarinder Singh was expelled, has made a ripple in political circles.

Jakhar, who was one of the essences of the mission for the approaching Assembly races, has evidently been forgotten about by the party after it took a U-turn on going to the decisions with a CM face.

The previous PPCC boss, who was tending to an assembly in Abohar on the side of his nephew Sandeep Jakhar, is heard saying in the video that after Amarinder’s ouster, 46 MLAs had decided in favor of him, 16 for Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, 12 for Preneet Kaur, six for Navjot Singh Sidhu and two for Channi as the CM face.

However the realities have been featured a few times before, the circumstance of this assertion by Jakhar is being seen by party pioneers as an unobtrusive update by the previous PPCC boss to the party authority about his pertinence when the party is getting some information about the CM face.

The video of Jakhar asserting that a larger part of MLAs had supported him for the Chief Minister’s post after Amarinder Singh quit has started a buzz, adding one more bend to the Congress’ lobby for the significant state political race.

In the video that has circulated around the web, Jakhar, who is executive of the Congress lobby panel, is heard saying in Punjabi that he has no bad things to say and “God does whatever is correct”.
