India to skip opening and closing ceremony of Beijing Olympics as Galwan soldier made torch-bearer

India said on Thursday it would not go to the opening or shutting function of the Beijing Winter Olympics after China made a People’s Liberation Army’s regimental commandant, who had experienced serious wounds during the Galwan conflict, a torchbearer of the occasion.

The service of outside undertakings (MEA) representative said it was lamentable that China decided to politicize the Olympics, adding the Indian agent won’t go to the opening or shutting function of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Beijing’s most recent move in the midst of a reports of China concealing its misfortunes in the Galwan Valley conflict with India in June 2020. Another exploration has shown that the PLA lost more number of troopers than its true count of four.

The MEA further said India had taken up with China the issue of torment of a kid from Arunachal Pradesh by the PLA.

The PLA had given over the kid to the Indian Army at Wacha Damai in Arunachal Pradesh on January 27.
