17-year-old girl gang-raped by three men in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur

Hoshiarpur, on August 21.
A 17-year-old girl was reportedly sexually assaulted by three men in the Tanda Police Station area. This was announced by the police on Monday. Two people who were said to have done something wrong have been taken into custody, but one person is still not caught.
The police say that on August 19 in the evening, the girl left her house to buy things for the house. One guy named Gautam also showed up at the store where the girl was.
Police said that he tricked the young girl into sitting on his motorcycle by pretending something false, and then he took her to a room in a nearby field where he is accused of raping her.
After some time, two additional men came to the location. Gautam supposedly scared the girl by saying that if she doesn’t have sex with them, they will record a video of her and share it with everyone. Afterwards, Gautam exited the room and the police said that the two men supposedly sexually assaulted her.
The Tanda Police has filed a case on Sunday according to the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act).
The head police officer at Tanda Police Station, Inspector Onkar Singh Brar, said that Gautam and another person named Gurpreet Singh, also known as Gopi, were arrested by the police on Monday.
Police also searched for the third person involved in the crime. Both of the men who were arrested will be taken to court so that the police can request to keep them in custody for a longer time.
