Telugu movie Sita Ramam, Jubilee TV show by Vikramaditya Motwane, and independent film Agra won the main awards at the 2023 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) on Friday. Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji won for Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway and Mohit Agarwal won for his role in Agra. Sita Ramam was named the Best Film. Agra received the award for Best Indie Film and Prithvi Konanur, a filmmaker from Kannada, won the award for Best Director. In the series group, Jubilee got the top prize for Best Series. Vijay Varma won Best Performance (male) for Dahaad and Rajshri Deshpande won Best Performance (female) for Trial By Fire. The special awards were given to two movies, Darlings and Pathaan. Darlings received the Equality in Cinema Award from Netflix, while Pathaan received the People’s Choice Award. Additionally, Karan Johar was recognized for his 25 years as a filmmaker, and Kartik Aaryan received the Rising Global Superstar of Indian Cinema trophy. Sita Ramam actor Mrunal Thakur won an award called Diversity in Cinema, and Bhumi Pednekar received an award called the Disruptor Award.
