Parliament’s Budget session to be held from January 31

The public authority has chosen to hold the budget session of Parliament from January 31 to April 8 subject to exigencies of business.

The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs has suggested the meeting plan with the primary portion of the meeting proposed from January 31 to February 11. The meeting will continue from March 14 to April 8.

An administration correspondence to the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha Secretariats said President Ram Nath Kovind would address the two houses on January 31, trailed by the introduction of the association spending plan on February 1 at 11 am.

The house will dismiss on February 11 to meet again on March 14 to empower the office related Parliamentary Standing Committees to consider the ‘Requests for Grants’ connecting with Ministries and Departments and set up their reports.

“There will be no sitting on March 18 because of Holi.

The Union Budget for 2022-23 will be laid in the Rajya Sabha after its show in Lok Sabha on February 1 at 11 am,” an administration correspondence said.

The date and season of laying of the Budget were passed on to the President and the President has consented to the proposed dates and time, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs said in its correspondence to Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha secretariats on Friday.
