Negotiators from the actors union in Hollywood have suggested doing a strike because discussions with the studios failed. This means that actors may picket alongside writers starting from Thursday, which could affect many shows and movies.
The SAG-AFTRA union is going to have a vote on whether or not to go on strike on Thursday morning. If it is allowed, movie studios in Hollywood would have to stop working for the first time in 63 years and would have to stop making movies all over the United States.

Both SAG-AFTRA, the largest union in Hollywood with 160,000 members, and the Writers Guild of America (WGA) want higher pay and ongoing compensation from streaming TV services. They also want guarantees that artificial intelligence (AI) will not replace their jobs.
Fran Drescher, who used to be on a show called “The Nanny” and is now the president of SAG-AFTRA, said that the way studios have been responding to the actors’ worries is rude and disrespectful.
