Kashmira Pardeshi had to do more than just follow a script and practice to get ready for her complex role as Aliya in Disney+Hotstar’s show, The Freelancer.
Kashmira talked about it and said, “The script is based on a book called Ticket to Syria. But I ended up reading the book at a later time because someone told me not to read it. I think that a script that is written well will have everything that an actor requires. But, in order to get ready to play the character, I spent a lot of time watching documentaries about families who have experienced this situation. This is about girls who have gone to Syria on their own or have been kidnapped and taken there. I read about a woman named Sushmita Banerjee who was married to a man from Kabul. Her story was very inspiring and had many inspiring stories.
